5 The ancestors are theirs,(A) and from them, by physical descent,[a] came the Messiah,(B) who is God(C) over all,(D) praised forever.[b](E) Amen.

6 But it is not as though the word of God has failed.(F) For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(G) 7 Neither are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants.[c](H) On the contrary, your offspring will be traced[d] through Isaac.(I)[e]
